DUCTLESS MINI-SPLIT HVAC SYSTEMS
Ductless Mini-Split System Specialists
Most ductless split HVAC systems are used for heating as well as cooling. These ductless systems are very efficient and quicker to install than conventional systems.
These systems are more energy efficient because they are zoned systems. This means you can change the heating or cooling in individual areas, rather than for the entire house. These systems are built for homeowners who want control over how they use their HVAC system.
Dream Team offers expert installation of ductless mini-split systems to our customers. We work with a variety of ductless heating and air conditioning systems.
How Does a Mini-Split System Work?
Mini-splits are heating and cooling systems that allow you to control the temperatures in individual rooms or spaces.
Ductless systems have two main components - an outdoor compressor/condenser and an indoor air-handling unit (evaporator). They are convenient to install usually requiring only a three-inch hole through a wall for the conduit; which houses the power and communication cables, copper tubing, and a condensation drain line, linking the outdoor and indoor units.
Heat pumps for these systems are not only great solutions for whole-home or new constructions but make good retro-fit add-ons to houses with "non-ducted" heating systems, such as hydronic hot water heat), radiant panels, and space heaters (wood, kerosene, propane). They can also be a good choice for room additions where extending or installing distribution ductwork is not feasible, and energy-efficient new homes that require only a small space conditioning system.
How Can Your Family Benefit?
· Efficient & Easy: Mini-split systems are much more energy-efficient than window-mounted AC units and do not require complex expensive ductwork.
· A Smart Upgrade: Mini Split systems lose less cooling than traditional forced-air systems, saving energy and money.
· Complete Control: Keep each room a customized temperature via remote access, including remote controls and timers.
· The Silent Treatment: Enjoy mini-split whisper quiet technology. Mini-split systems allow for a peaceful inside environment enabling the contractor to install compressors outdoors.
Mini-Splits vs. Central Air
Mini-split systems have no ductwork, so they avoid the energy losses associated with the ductwork of central air forced systems.
Duct losses can account for more than 30% of energy consumption for space conditioning, especially if the ducts are in an unconditioned space such as an attic or basement. Central air systems require expensive and intrusive ductwork.
