How often am I supposed to tune up my sump pump?
The manufacturer recommends you have it looked at every year, we also recommend at least once every other year, depending on how much rain your sump pump has seen over the year, or if there is expected bad weather that could lead to flooding.
Why do I need a sump pump?
Floods are the obvious one. A sump pump will prevent your house from flooding, but, in our area, mold is a bigger issue. Water can be under your house and be sitting idle, and it is a breeding ground for bacteria and mold. You end up breathing that in, and it can cause some serious health and safety issues.
